When the enterprising "Sor Remy"
founded the restaurant in Rome
Da Meo Patacca decided to recreate a corner of
Roman Risorgimento in Trastevere, reconstructing the atmosphere and charm of an
inn of the nineteenth century
. He chose the Piazza dei Mercanti as its seat,
where traditionally the sea captains met, the merchants and the owners of
sailing ships that arrived at the nearby port of Ripa Grande.
Soon the restaurant Da Meo Patacca becomes
one of the most prestigious and well-known places of the Roman restaurants,
meeting point of artists and intellectuals.
For the 50 anniversary of the activity,
during the week of the "Festa de ' Noantri", the restaurant has
organized a photographic exhibition and an evening-show, dedicated to the Roman
musical and cultural tradition and to the close relationship that our
restaurant had and continues to have with the artistic life of Trastevere and
